Here Is What to Look for At Daytona This Week
Introduction
You know there is nothing like the sunny beaches of Daytona, home of the 2.500-mile (4.023 km) speedway, NASCAR welcomes us back to the track for its regular season finale. Daytona is a track that always keeps fans on the edge of their seats. From Darrel Waltrip winning his first race at Daytona in 1989 to Dale Earnhardt's tragic death in 2001, Daytona has always caught the attention of fans.
Pole Winner
With Chase Briscoe getting the pole position yesterday, he will start out front with Aric Almirola starting alongside him. This is Briscoe’s second career pole in the NASCAR Cup Series!
Last Week's Winner
William Byron won last Sunday at Watkins Glen getting his fifth win of the season putting him first in the point standings. Byron said in an interview later after the race he still wants to win at Daytona to 100% lock himself in first in points.
End of the Main Season
The end of the primary season is here at Daytona, the last race before the playoffs kickoff, and so with the closing of the primary season many people are curious will Chase Elliot make it to the playoffs? I guess we’ll have to find out.
Chase Elliot needs to Win!
Chase Elliot needs to win! With Chase Elliot being out for most of the season he has fallen behind in the points and Daytona is his only ticket to make it into the playoffs! Time is running out with only one more chance for Chase Elliot to win it begs the question, will he make it?
UP2SPEED Prediction
Well with all said and done that it’s impossible to guess a driver to win at Daytona. No race is the same and with that said it’s hard for me to pick a driver, but seeing how things have played out so far, I believe that Micheal McDowell, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Larson are my picks to win the race at Daytona. Now I can hear people saying “What about Chase Elliot or Ricky Stenhouse or whoever else” but to that, I say that this is my prediction. That doesn’t mean I’m going to be correct, it's just my guess. With that being said let us know who you think is going to win.

DRN Prediction
My prediction for this race is hard to make. Daytona is a very unpredictable track with lots of drafting and one mistake while doing so will cause you to wreck and ultimately, end your day. It's hard to predict the winner. Chase Elliot is in a must-win situation after a disappointing finish at Watkins Glen and a bad qualifying position. He rolls off 23rd in the race today. William Byron has a strong chance as he’s been the dominant car all season long. Kyle Busch has a strong chance, and Kyle Larson and many more multiple-race winners this year have a chance. Maybe Kevin Harvick can get one more win at Daytona - who knows? We’ll find out tonight! Let me know what you think at
