MARION, Ill. — A special tribute and some added incentives are set to turn up the intensity at Southern Illinois Raceway for the Dwarf Class this weekend for their annual special!
Thanks to the generosity of the Stilley/Horn family, Saturday’s Dwarf division event has been elevated to an $800-to-win special in memory of Jacob Stilley, a former dwarf class competitor at the track. The boosted purse is just the beginning. Track officials also announced recently a new five-race contest designed to reward the divisions with the strongest turnouts.
Here’s how it works:
The class with the most entries over the next five races will compete for a $1,000 payday on October 4.
The class with the most entries overall for the season will also receive a $1,000-to-win race on that same date.
If the same division wins both challenges, the stakes double, with the October 4 feature paying an impressive $2,000 to win.
Current season entry standings as of August 18th:
Non-Wing: 176
Mod-Lite: 141
Restrictor: 118
A Class: 109
Junior: 89
Wing Outlaw: 85
Dwarf: 44
With tight battles across multiple divisions, the added prize money promises to make the season’s final stretch one of the most competitive yet.
Fans can expect a spirited night of racing this weekend as drivers chase both immediate winnings and a shot at October’s high-paying finale.
