SUMNER, Ill. — Red Hill Raceway will pause from its usual Saturday night battles to host a special event on August 30, honoring the late Leon Gentry, a beloved figure whose passion and determination left a lasting mark on dirt track racing.
The Leon Gentry Memorial will bring together drivers, fans, and the racing community for a night of celebration and remembrance. While the action on the track will provide plenty of excitement, the heart of the evening will be focused on honoring Gentry’s life and legacy.
“Leon’s influence went beyond racing,” event organizers shared. “He inspired those around him with his love for the sport and his drive to make an impact both on and off the track.”
The event will not only feature competitive racing at the Sumner oval but also serve as a chance for the racing family to come together, share stories, and honor one of its own.
