Fans support Kyle Busch as he suggests NASCAR doesn't race at Indy anymore

As we know, Indianapolis Motor Speedway has been a pinnacle track in NASCAR for a good while. Two years ago, they did away with the original Brickyard 400 and replaced it with a road course race. Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, Kyle Busch wasn’t keen on the change, and it certainly looks like he isn’t fond of it still to this day.

He told the Indianapolis Star he had a specific suggestion for the venue. He suggested just doing away with the NASCAR race weekend in its entirety.

He continued his frustration with the newer road course race and he said to reporters, “But I don’t know why we ever went to the road course, to be honest with you. I don’t think it did an uptick or changed a damn thing at Indy. If we can’t get enough people to Indy to suffice for us staying on the oval, then we need to go somewhere else—just like anywhere. He finished his statement by saying, I’ll say that about any track.”

Fans had a positive reaction to Rowdy Busch’s comments.

One fan said, “I agree. Honestly, they could ditch it altogether and I wouldn’t be upset. NASCAR seems to be restructuring, so maybe they should put their focus and energy somewhere else…”

Another fan had shared similarities to the Indy Road Course and COTA by saying, “He’s not wrong. The Indy road course Turn 1 is COTA 2.0.”

Another fan agreed with a similar opinion, “I’m good with ditching it altogether.”

A fan recalled the speedway President's statement last winter, “From what the speedway president said this winter, it sounds like they might be going back to the oval for next year or at least having a rotation of both the oval and road course.”

It’s going to be interesting to see what happens with this, especially with the demand from Busch and the fans. It has also been mentioned by a fan that the Oval may return, but in our eyes, we don’t see it happening anytime soon - especially since NASCAR is changing and not showing any signs of its roots and its most popular tracks anymore.
